On the road to data certification

You may have heard this week the National Farmers’ Federation released a new data certification scheme and update to the Australian Farm Data Code to lift industry standards and help farmers make informed choices about which companies to entrust with their data.

At Black Box Co, we are very excited about this program, and while it’s voluntary for providers to participate, we have started the certification application process. As a software company hosting your business information and valuable data about your livestock, we know how important data security is to you and your livelihood.

You can be assured the data submitted to Black Box Co software is handled in line with our core principle of strict data integrity and security. Our business is based on the belief that we can help the industry understand their data properly, and this can only be achieved by building on a platform of trust. We believe achieving certification will deliver an additional and verifiable point of proof for our customers.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come in three years, and the strong relationships we’ve already built across Australia’s beef industry, entrusting us with their data. A big part of our vision was to enable secure data sharing that is always authenticated and approved by the data owner to improve on farm efficiency and productivity.

The NFF has indicated they are hoping to assess and certify several providers before the end of this year. We’d love to be one of the first to achieve the tick. However, in the meantime, please take confidence in knowing we’re already handling your data safely and to the highest of industry standards.

You can read more about the data certification scheme on the National Farmers’ Federation website.
