2024 Bull Sale Wrap Up

With 11 bull sales packed into just a couple of months, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've had this season. Each sale brought its own unique energy, and the collective successes witnessed in the ring are a true testament to the dedication of everyone involved.

Embracing Data-Driven Genetics

In its inaugural year, we were humbled to see RePRO BI-GBVs (Genomic Breeding Values) make their debut in sale catalogues and along bull walk displays across several breeds. This tool offers bull buyers unique insights into key fertility, growth, and adaptation traits, all proven to boost productivity and profitability in the north.

With this genomic prediction tool, making informed purchasing decisions is simple, allowing buyers to select for genetics that align with their breeding goals to enhance the performance of their herds. The introduction of GBV rankings reflects a commitment to transparency and data-driven decisions in the breeding industry.

Buyers could assess not just the bulls in front of them but also the potential long-term benefits they could bring to their operations. This focus on genetics has proven to be a game-changer, paving the way for more successful breeding programs and more productive cattle.

Additionally, we extend our gratitude to the crew at GDL Rockhampton for attending our information session at CQLX. Your interest in how tools like RePRO BI can be utilised to support decision-making processes is greatly appreciated.
