Will Thomas grew up in Canberra and studied a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Forestry at the Australian National University, before developing an interest in software development. Committed to establishing a career within the industry, Will completed a Master’s in Information Technology and has since spent more than 10 years working in the field. 

Will joined Black Box Co in 2022 as Senior Software Developer and said his decision was largely driven by his passion for working with data to provide valuable analytics, and a desire to learn more about the agricultural industry. 

A day in Will’s life at Black Box includes working on the ongoing development of the Black Box platform. He is responsible for all things code, from back and front-end development to infrastructure. 

Will particularly enjoys that each day in his role he is presented with a new challenge or opportunity and is proud his work contributes to helping farmers make the most of their data, allowing them to make more informed business decisions.
